Faronics is happy to announce the release of Insight 7.81.
This is a bug-fix release that addresses a number of issues;
- Resolved an issue where Chromebook Students stop connecting to the Insight Connection Server and stop showing up to the Teacher.
- Resolved an issue where the Mac Students were not responding or had a black screen. (This is the issue where Mac Student daemon hangs.
- Removed Microsoft .NET Framework warning message from appearing when using Dynamic Class Lists on the Windows Teacher as it no longer applies.
- Resolved an issue that now allows for the Teacher to turn off “Automatically check for Insight updates” in configuration pane.
- Added fixes for Insight Connection Service (ICS) where it crashed or was not responding.
- Resolved an issue where the Insight Connection Server can get into a state where it will stop servicing all Students and Teachers and consume the server’s CPU.
- Resolved issue of Teacher console crashing while trying to restore the Screen Feed view when there are no students.
- Corrected problem where Student.exe interfered with GPO in registry.
- Resolved several issues involving Chromebook Student and Web Limiting.
- Resolved an issue on Chromebook where “Ask the teacher a question” was not captured on the Teacher Console.
- Resolved an issue in the Show Teacher failure on Mac Teacher caused by Apple App Nap power saving feature.
- Resolved issues in Chromebook Student to support ARM-based processors.
- Enabled Chromebook Show Teacher option for right click on the Student thumbnail view.
- Changed the Chromebook default behavior to save user preferences in the Cloud rather than on the device.
- Resolved an issue so that Chromebook continues to Web Limit after wireless network is cycled.
- Resolved an issue where Mac Teacher crashed when adding students to class list.
- Resolved an issue where Mac Teacher crashed when showing Student info.
- Resolved an issue with sorting on all columns of when browsing for Students in Class List.
- Resolved an issue with Teacher crash during remote control while Student logging in.
- Extended toggle type selection to all multi-select lists in the Teacher console.
- Resolved an issue with VirtualBox interfering with Insight Student.
- Resolved an issue where Mac daemon periodically crashes.
- Resolved an issue with Yosemite (OS X 10.10) showing Student thumbnail.
- Resolved an issue with Yosemite (OS X 10.10) multiple choice questions.
- Resolved an issue with Teacher’s Assistant crashing when sending long (+150 character) message.
- Resolved an issue with Web Helper to be more robust.
- Resolved an issue where Mac had corrupt screen during Remote Control of multi-monitor machine.
- Resolved an issue where Chromebook Students didn’t reconnect after stop/start of Insight Connection Service.
- Resolved an issue where the Mac Student Chat window not closing after Teacher closes Chat.
- Resolved a buffer overflow issue with Mac Student (TileEncoder).
- Resolved a magnify option to stay deselected after application restart.
- Fixed issue where a Student question will toggle off and on when the Student is Insight Connection Server connected.
- Fixed the Login name for Chromebook to show the Google+ name of the authenticated user instead of the application configured Student Name.
- Disabled [OK] in Chromebook Vote until a choice is made.
- Addressed localization issue with Questions appearing in wrong language.
- Resolved an issue where Chromebook Student should not prompt Student to upgrade to Google+.
- Resolved an issue with Mac Teacher on Lion (OS X 10.7).
- Resolved Mac Teacher issue with changing network settings if Insight Connection Server specified at install.
- Resolved a Wake-On-LAN issue where list re-sorted unexpectedly changing sort criteria.
- Added feature for Mac student to present a larger message box.
- Resolved an issue where it was not possible view Insight student with dual monitor. (Case No: GOE-863-76548)
- Resolved an issue where setting a student to mute and rebooting the teacher console results in a student machine that cannot be un-muted. (Case No: XET-441-14517/IUJ-159-75258)
- Resolved an issue where there was a delay in refreshing thumbnails in Insight Tech Console. (Case No: OUG-377-90231).
