How to restore the Power Plans in Power Save Enterprise

Problem

In the event of a catastrophic server failure, it is possible to restore the user-defined Power Plans and Power Consumption Profiles

Resolution

The Plans are located in C:\ProgramData\Faronics\Faronics Core 3\Server\loadins\PowerSave.xml.  The version, and hence licensing, must be the same on the destination Core Server.

• Shut down the Core Console  
• Replace the existing file with the backup copy (ensure you make a backup of the original file just in case) 
• Restart the Core Console

Note, the file is updated when the Core Console is closed.  If the Core crashes or is closed prematurely, there may be a discrepancy in plan configuration.
