How does Deep Freeze Interact with Windows License Activation.

There are a few different types of Windows Licenses, most require activation once and baring any major problems with the computer will continue to function indefinitely. KMS activation however will continue to re-validate the license key on a periodic basis and will force the machine into a state of reduced functionality if it cannot retain the license activation.

We recommend any customer protecting a KMS licensed version of Windows with Deep Freeze should schedule weekly thawed period so that the computer can reactivate and retain that activation information.

For all other license types ensuring that the license is activated prior to turning on Deep Freeze will be enough to ensure that the license activation holds.
