In some cases users may find that workstations running Mac OS X have difficulty maintainig connection to an Active Driectory Domain once Deep Freeze is installed.
To work around this issue run the procedure below;
- Boot the computer into a thawed state.
- If the computer is no longer bound to Active Directory re-bind it to the domain and reboot.
- Verify that the computer can connect to Active Directory and that the users can log in.
- Run the following command in a terminal;
-
Sudo dsconfigad –passinterval 0
-
- Reboot the computer.
- Verify that the computer can connect to Active Directory and that the users can log in.
- Set the computer to boot Frozen.
- Reboot the computer into a frozen state.
Please note that the reboot in Step 5 is required for this process to complete successfully. If the computer is not rebooted there appears to be some portion of the process that does not complete and the workstation will again fall off the domain.
