Update: 4:10 PM 12/15/2021 - At this time the issue that impacted access to the Deep Freeze Cloud and Faronics Deploy platforms is resolved.

The underlying cause for this issue was a disruption in the connectivity for our hosting provider (AWS) that impacted the ability of customers to access the availability zone(s) hosting our products. A timeline of the events is below;

Faronics products not affected by Log4j vulnerability.

On December 9th, 2021 a CVE was published that details a severe vulnerability in the Log4j framework. This vulnerability allows 3rd parties to run code on impacted devices allowing them to potentially take control over an impacted device.

Faronics was made aware of this issue and began a process of reviewing our systems to determine if anything was impacted by this issue.

The Faronics Support team is being made aware of issues with Deep Freeze caused by the McAfee and ESET antivirus products flagging our software as some type of unwanted application in some customer systems.

If you are impacted by this issue please raise a support ticket via email to and we will look into what we can do to assist further.

If you have not been impacted we recommend ensuring that all Faronics Files/Folders be flagged as exempted in your Antivirus product

Support for Mac OS Monterey

Happy to announce that Deep Freeze Mac v7.4 supports Monterey and is now available on both Cloud and On-Premise. The on-prem version will require a new license key. Customers with valid maintenance can obtain updated keys and download links from Faronics Labs (for North America) or the Faronics Customer Center (for customers outside of North America).

Problems with systems running Deep Freeze 8.63 not booting correctly.

On Monday, Nov 1st, Faronics was made aware of some issues where Deep Freeze Cloud customers running the Deep Freeze product were not booting up properly.

Faronics Products and Windows 11

As most of us are aware Microsoft has officially released Windows 11 yesterday.

At this time Faronics is now testing our products with the final release that was made available yesterday and we will update here with any issues that we find.

The only large issue is that WINSelect's Kiosk functionality does not work in Windows 11 due to the removal of Internet Explorer from Windows 11. Our Developers are working on a build to address this at this time. We will provide an update once a release
