Power Save provides a feature called “Local Wakeup” (or Wake-without-LAN) that allows you to wake up a machine prior to a new Power Policy taking effect. This sets a local "alarm-clock" on the machine that will wake up the workstation from Standby or Hibernate.

It is also possible to allow the end user to scheduled their workstation to wake up from Standby or Hibernate on a one-time or weekly basis. The user will also be able to defer power management for an authorized amount of time.
